facebook, twitter, wordpress..oh no

Not that my every day needed more things to make it busier as it already is. To start, I am a mum to two very energetic, on-top-of-the-world kind of kids, who always seem to find means to get me up and working, bless them. But hey, apart from that, I spend most of the time in front of the many wonderful tech-savvy inventions of this modern world, not that I needed any more. My day consists of waking up early (too early for my liking) and get hubby off to work, getting the kids up and fed before getting them ready for josh’s school, then girl time with my missy-moo and off to shops, playgroup, or whatever is happening that day, then when school finishes, the fun begin entertaining the kids, cooking dinner, getting them ready for bed, reading books, and finally tucking them to bed (hey, i do have some help from the wonderful hubby that goes to work in the morning….only when he is not in camp, though).

But of course, I’d have to keep up to the modern world and do this social networking sites as well. I have just recently joined facebook and twitter, and its not so long ago since I started my wordpress blog. I have to blog, its the “blogging” world we live in and of course probably the only source of information and updates that family from the other side of the world can be informed how busy our lives here.  Now,  I wake up in the morning and every time I get a tiny little window of opportunity checks up on my blogging friends, stalk them on their day-t0-day posts, plus now I get updates of what they are doing via their tweets, and leave comments on their status and turn to facebook (I got about 6 opened tabs at one time all the time), see what they are up to and their status and comment or browse their photos. And Oh I love my iphone, gets me all the “pings” and “dings” from new e-mails, reminders of what to do and of course all the messages and calls I have to make  or receive during the day.

I wonder sometimes why we get ourselves so caught up in this technological advances and tell me who wouldn’t live without the computers, phones or tv. Oh don’t get me started on the tv. Nearly every house has its tv on for most part of the day, and I am no exceptions, we watch dora, hi-5 and abc kids religiously on that, not so much on tv shows for me but I still use it occasionally to watch movies and shows that are downloaded or recorded. I spend nearly 20 hours every day on either of these stuff.

Just the other day, I got myself tangled up reading php codes, java script and html codes that oh would make your head spin, and after spending a few days working on the pc, the next day I vowed to get back that oh-so-longed sleep I needed, and so I finish the work for the night, kids tucked in bed, kitchen all clean and sparkling (ah yeah) and all ready to crawl into bed, but then oh I forgot I needed to reply to an e-mail, and check something online and of course, before I knew it, its nearly midnight and my sleep has been forgotten and left for another day to reclaim. And you wouldn’t guess what happens the next night, or the next one after that and oh look, I’m here yet again.

But hey, I have to blog, and make blogging friends. I have to check and update my status on twitter and check up on my facebook wall and see if anyone has left a comment and return the favour.

I am going to finish this post and get the kids to school and start my day, of course with my twitter, facebook and wordpress.

Do I need blog detox, or what?
