It wasn’t the day I expected it to be, I planned it to be extra special fitting for someone who is so supportive with me and my passion, but as the day drew nearer, everyone seem to be getting sick. And then, when we woke up this morning, Chad woke up feeling rather sick. Since he got work today, he went work as usual but by 9 am, had to come home for a rest. The whole day was spent sleeping with coughing and spattering in between. He is much better now after a well deserved rest.
But that is just him, he goes to work even when he is sick. He is always a really good provider for the family and we wanted to celebrate it. He is just my hero. He is very supportive even taking a week off work to look after the kids while I go out and chase my passion with photography while doing the Pilbara Project, isn’t that just great.
So today, even without the suggestion of a party, I baked a cake for the kids, we had dinner and the kids sang “Happy Birthday” and blew the candle on his cake and of course enjoyed eating the cake. I must say, I just found a recipe that I really really love. It’s the best cake I’ve ever made and it doesn’t promise to very rich for those counting the calories (maybe minus the choco fudge on top!). Here is the cake I baked for the kids on their daddy’s birthday.
He spoils me too much and I must say that is just like him as well. I am thankful for him sharing his life with me.
Happy Birthday, my love!
