Since the introduction of blogging, I will admit that I am pretty addicted to them. I have read and visited hundreds of blogs from photography, crafting, sewing, Scrapbooking, cooking to personal interior design blogs. I love reading through each post and learn something about the blogger. I love dissecting and admiring the photos that usually accompany each post. It is like a window to their lives. And I can get glimpses to the kind of lives they live. I have found so many favourites and there are some that have become a daily read.

While reading one of my favourite blogs this week, I come across a project that photographers are currently on where each week has a theme that they can interpret with their photos and share on their blog then tag another photographer. But since I am so late as they are already on week 35, I am adapting the idea to get myself into the shooting mode (for fun). I’ve been thinking of ways to get back into shooting that can just give me a little bit of boost to get my mojo back! So here is the idea.

Every friday, I will have a theme and will post a photo of my interpretation of that theme. And if you would like to join me, let me know in the comments section so I can add you to my daily blog visits.

I will start posting the photos next friday as it seems to be too late for today. But here are some photos of my little tara with her good friend the last time they had a play over at our house.

the swan valley

From one spectacular place to another. After living in the Pilbara for quite some time, I am a bit sad to say goodbye to the amazing place and people but also happy to be living in a place that is opposite to the red dust of Port Hedland. It’s the Swan Valley! Here, there are land upon land of green and lush lawns and bushes. I am quite excited to be able to capture this quite picturesque place.

We stayed for a month in The Vines Resort and of course I have to go explore the surroundings and capture a few shots. My models are no other than my kids, naturally!!

Enjoy the photos and so glad to be back doing what I love doing.

I plan to share some more photos from the weekend but I just have to share this photo which is a favourite of mine. I took a series of these photos and just loved them all, I used one of my favourite texture on this photo and just love it.

I have my weeks ahead so full with editing and finishing the photos from the last workshop and getting a CD ready for FORM. I am starting to get on top of things now with list all printed and reminding me in order of the things I need to do first, so bear with me as I get some things finish and then more news on this side of things.

Okay, when you have 4 kids and 1 train and truck park, what do you get? A fun, fun afternoon. It’s been a while since I shoot in this train park but it was so great to be back and take photos of these gorgeous kids, each with a different personality. Really, this is just so fun. I truly enjoy taking photos of little kids, they have such great and charming facial expressions.

100% girly glamour

I have always envisioned this pettiskirt on my little girl ever since I got it a few weeks ago and finally we managed to squeeze in half an hour to get these images one cloudy afternoon. I was so excited to share them but as usual, things have gotten in the way,so I had to wait until tonight to get them up and live,and no worries, here they are finally.

Isn’t she such an adorable- cheeky little girl, she really did glam up the shoot with that cheeky smile, girly pose and oh so cute skirt, and oh the twirling, she loved the twirling and must have sent her to this glamourous fashion nirvana as she wouldn’t part with it after the shoot. I had to tell her that it was getting really dirty and not pretty before she succumbed and gave me the skirt and agreed to put on her ‘house’ clothes.

I just adore a little bit of texture on a photo and brenda’s textures are just the yummiest, really so I bit the bullet and get myself her scrumptious texture to try on a little bit of vintage on my photos.

I had a wonderful time yet again this weekend with not one, but three toddlers. I love how kids can transform before my eyes in one session. We started with timid and shy kids especially as they have not seen me before, must be my huge camera infront of them (i hate to think its my face ); then by the end of the session, we are playing peek a boos and running, all three of them interacting with me. Isn’t that wonderful?

Here are some sneak peek of these gorgeous kids from this weekend. Loved, loved, loved (did I say love) this session.

Still gushing over how beautiful and relaxing Ellenbrook Park is, really I am in love. Truly someday I would love to live in Ellenbrook. Here are some more of the gorgeous kids I had the pleasure to photographed on the Easter weekend.

I am so happy to be able to capture these gorgeous little kids and the day in this beautiful park. I am also really glad to be able to play with the 24-70mm 1.8L lens, a truly one amazing lens but guess what, I also had the chance to test the 35mm lens and I think I am finding a new love as well. gush!!!

Whilst in Perth, I had the opportunity to rent the most coveted lens — Canon EF 24-70mm 1.8L. It is indeed a beauty although I had to remind myself that it is a zoom lens. So while having the lens, I photographed some friends’ kids while we were having the Easter Egg hunt in the local Ellenbrook park. It is a really beautiful park, I wanted to take it with me to Hedland, I could see myself taking lots of gorgeous kids portraits there– with the falls, lake and the pond.

Here is just one of the gorgeous kids I had the pleasure to take photos of. This is Miss P.

And of course, my little princess with her favourite parasol.

What little girls are made of….

Some girly stuff for now, makes dress ups so fun when you are little. It was indeed a fun shoot.
