But not to worry, the new year brings new beginnings and I, for one, would like to change a few things – one is to bring my camera with me everyday and to take some photos again – for myself.

Starting with today, I took the camera out, dusted it a little, and just started taking photos for myself. And here is the start of our day.

I have been looking for just the right recipe for cupcakes and now I have found both for the butter cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes. They are so tasty that really I couldn’t help forgetting that we shouldn’t be eating too much sweet.

Here are some shots of my butter cupcakes topped with the yummy chocolate buttercream icing and sprinkled with shaved chocolate.

My good friend has now asked me to help organise her daughter’s 18th birthday and I am so excited for it as we are planning a theme party. Next to baking, I love organising parties so this is going to be very exciting.

Here is a macaroon that I have tried making — not the usual macaroon that you see on masterchef but the macaroon I grew up eating especially at Christmas time!

Today, as we celebrate one of his proudest days with ice cream filled with chocolate toppings and nuts and topped with fresh strawberries, I know that there will be more of these days as he grows older.

And he couldn’t be happier to celebrate it together with his best mate at school; the boy to his left.

As we get ready to go to the airport yesterday, I can’t help but think that waiting is hard to do but then again the rewards of spending the whole week together as a family is worth the wait every time. I got the car ready and took all the stuff that seem to pile up on the passenger’s seat. Grab grocery receipts, chiropractor’s letter, jumper, beanies and oh look a half eaten coffee lolly, looked around and decided to put them on top of the bench in the garage thinking I will sort it out later. We are running late and sure enough, just as we are nearing the airport, my phone rang. I answered it, put him on speaker and said we are 2 minutes away.

Just as we were going back home, I decided to go past Bunnings and grab a few flowers for the front garden. As much as I am not a gardener, I am enjoying the project and making my front house look fabulous. I just have to remember to water the plants.

We pulled in the parking at Bunnings, went in and was just in gardener’s paradise with all the new blooms and plants around. (I can act as if I am a great gardener every time I walk in garden centres). We decided for some yellow blooms and petunias to go on the front and some roses.

When we got back, I went out and put in the plants. As I look up, the sky began to darken and the wind picked up and blew a rather cold breeze. I hurried and finished the replanting and decided to go in but not before we take some photos of the kids’ strawberries that are starting to go red. Josh didn’t feel like being in the photo so I got my usual model showing off our first fruit from our garden.

We hope you are having a great start to the week. We all are because our family is together!

I have divided the kids’ games room and made my very own office space. I perusing the net for ideas to organise my office. Isn’t it exciting? For those who are waiting for photos of my photoshoots, I haven’t done much yet and decided to wait a few more months before accepting any bookings.

I have been a little slack at even capturing personal photos and whilst watching my kids play one day, I realised that they are growing up so fast. Josh has grown a few inches and tara is pretty much growing every day. Josh talks to me in a ‘teenager-ish’ way and Tara reminds me everyday that she is a big girl and she doesn’t need any help.

Here she is, growing up to be a very gorgeous girl (I have mummy goggles on).

When we bought the house, the backyard is pretty much empty except for the decked patio, and so we put our heads together and both our brown thumbs to plan a garden makeover. But first, we have to get rid of all the weeds that have by design ambushed the whole place. The kids were ecstatic of doing some sort of gardening while the adults knew the rich veggie patch that we envision will not grow on its own. So on went our gardening gloves and the tools were taken out of the shed, and started weeding the whole back yard.

After a while, the kids commented that gardening is hard work. NO KIDDING! and when the manure was spread on the garden bed in the front. WHOA! The house now radiates stench at the first step of the driveway. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

But hey, at least the kids look good with their gardener get-up.

And as W.E John said in The Passing Show, “One of the delightful things about a garden is the anticipation it brings.” Have a great weekend!

We are thrilled to be in debt for the next 30 years!

This is where I will be announcing my photography business to the Swan Valley! I am so excited and I am gathering great ideas for decorating the house. A lot of things to do and I will share a few bits with you as they go along. Have a great week ahead!

It is so amazing how these rock formations happened long time ago and the sand dunes that are way away from the coast. Makes me wonder what the world looked like a long, long time ago.
