sporadic friday

As I sit here reflecting all that has happened in last few days, I begin to understand that there are days when they are long and they are days when they are short. I have had such a revelation in the last couple of days that it seems to overwhelm most times, but that is another post altogether.

It’s friday and usually I like to think that its going to be my creative friday but as I soak myself in all of domestic goodness, I reluctantly compel my mind to think of the things that make me smile for a change. So after the work is done, I lay down with a good book and immersed myself in another world.

a companion’s last days

This is about my laptop. I got it on Mother’s Day 2006 and have been a constant companion as well as resource all these years. Well, you will know that I am a bit of a computer buff and probably the reason I wanted to ‘Unplug”. But early last week, my laptop has been showing signs of aging (well I do too, but that is another story) and finally did its last reboot. Well, I usually back up my data but thinking it would go on for a few more days, waited until the weekend to do another back up but it didn’t even get to the weekend.

We managed to recover the data from the hard drive but I am having a bit of a problem to transfer it to another. Most of my business stuff is in the laptop so sad to say I can’t e-mail properly to all my business clients, although I can still receive and read emails through my phone.

So to everyone, if you sent me an email and have not received any response, please could you email me again so I can reply. I am on my last few shoots of the year and won’t start until after the school holidays next year but don’t worry, I will update the blog as often as I can.

I am on my last few shoots for the year before I take a rest and enjoy the holidays with the family, so I thought I’d share this highlights of the wedding I shot in September. It was a beautiful morning and a joyous occasion to celebrate love. I have used my favourite MCP blogit templates to do this collage.

falling behind for all the right reasons

The reason for over a month of inactivity here is because it is the month for family. If there is one month that is big in my family, that is October. Well, it usually starts earlier than that, with September celebrating our anniversary and then with the kids’ birthdays only a week apart, the house is buzzing with planning, preparing and having the party, and of course it goes for the whole month, finishing with my own birthday. Now, when you have a whole month of party at your place, the aftermath is also big including the mess, so though going back to routine has been slow and busy, things are starting to get back on track.

I did not have any shoots in October so I could give my whole concentration and time to my family, and for every birthday we celebrate, I realise that time does fly so quickly. Our kids grow too fast that before we know it, we lose the opportunity to share our life, our values, our experiences and our dreams with them in the time they need them the most. I make it a point that every chance I have, I will give them a piece of my life. I realise that while they are young, it is my wisdom, and my life experience to substitute their own that they need. We made a pact to give handmade presents this Christmas, to do 25 days of Christmas crafts, and to spend more time together.

While I don’t want to be too goofy and sentimental on you, I just want to give you the reason for my absense in blogland. Those two keep me up on my toes all the time and I love spending time with them.

So spend time with your family and kids and document the moments with photos. I have more a thousand photos of each of the kids, I could probably put a montage of their lives day by day. Keep snapping!

Hi I am still here, so forgive me if you haven’t heard from me from blogland. I have just been really busy over my head with editing as well as organising the kids birthdays. Yes, They choose to be born one week apart in October so to keep me sane, I just have to throw one party for the two but of course, it always seem to be a big party just because there are 2 cakes and more kids, but, it was so much fun although there aren’t much photos as I was busy entertaining and organising games and everything.

I also would like to share the slideshow of the 2009 Pilbara Music Festival held last month. If you see this here and would like to share to anyone who would be interested in watching, just go ahead and share the site. The photos are from me and Annette Peterson. Till then, enjoy!

the port in hedland

N.B. The Internet problem has been resolved. I will get back to you as per your request as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience.

I remember whilst driving to port one early morning, and a ship was coming in, it looked like (from anderson street driving to the main street) that the ship is going to dock right in the middle of town, it was really very interesting to watch (and maybe a little bit scary).

Anyways, I have always wanted to get a family photo with the ship coming in the port and this family is no exception. We had a wonderful afternoon taking photos and playing in the playground as well as watching the ship come in the port. This is a bit overdue but here is a sneak of that session.

Internet problems

A quick post to let you know (especially to those who are waiting some response from me) that we are having some problems with the Internet connection and I really don’t understand why. I can’t do anything as it’s the weekend, arghh, but tomorrow I will have to ring the service provider. Thanks for your understanding.

It’s not everyday I get to just post something for nothing, but I thought I can’t really just separate my business with my personal life because photography for me is personal, and as such I will share personal stuff here, just so you get a glimpse of what I am and what I do.

Currently I am swamped with work, thus not being able to post more and to be able to share more not just business but also personal stuff. My two kids take most of the time when not taking photos and editing them so in between really, doesn’t leave much for anything, so I can’t wait until the next holiday which is now in planning stage.

Oh, I enjoy reading the duck cartoon series so here is one that I think you would enjoy too. Have a great week!

After spending days on end tweaking and customising this site, I am glad I’ve put in the final touches. There is still one more thing that I would like to do with my proofing gallery though but that isn’t very urgent and it can wait. I think my kids are starting to feel neglected while I sit here finishing the work. And I’m so glad that it’s over, now I have time to have some play time with the kids especially in this beautiful day.

m.i.a {family in sick land}

As the last week has seen inaction in the blogland, the whole family has been visited by the sick bug that is sweeping the whole town with this cool weather. We are all doing fine now, just needed some rest and frequent visits to the doctor.

I am having a blast photographing kids and families in the weekend. This is so amazing that I have been given this opportunity to know all these great people and kiddos.

Portfolio building sessions are now officially closed and Sessions are now being taken for the months of July and August.
