Sometimes we are fortunate enough to experience moments of great love and amazing warmth in the presence of newborn and loving family. This little friend allowed me to share both with him yesterday afternoon.

Although we were only allowed a small time of great light, I think we still got some amazing moments captured.

The big sister was smitten by him. So adorable!

And of course, we finish off being daddy’s little man.

Police Ball

The second part of the Police Legacy day is the most anticipated event, the Police Ball, which is always a great fun every year with lots of good people donating and helping the Police Legacy. Always for the good cause.

It was great to attend it this year and the night was great fun. The hall looked magnificent and filled with great people. Just look at it here.

Police Legacy 20/20

It was a quiet June morning and I was on my computer (as usual) working on some photos with facebook open on the side (a girl needs some sort of a backup entertainment), then I received the call from the police (uh-oh, of course, he assured me almost straightaway I’m not in trouble, wheww!) and asked me to donate my time for the Police Legacy celebration starting with the 20/20 cricket and then the Police Ball, and I said, absolutely yes.

When the day arrived, it was just perfect and just right, not too cold and not too hot, a little bit of breeze and a good turnaround. I think I began to enjoy and learn more about cricket than ever before. Well I do ask my loving husband but he simply just gives me the description of what it is expecting I understand it (and I’m like, what overs? what wicket? what’s 20/20? ). So like always, I succumbed to find the right description from the net and this is what I’ve found.

“You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out, and when
he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s
out. When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in
and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get
those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in
and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who
are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes
in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two
men called umpires who stay all out the time and they
decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides
have been in and all the men have been given out, and
both sides have been out twice after all the men have
been in, including those who are not out, that is the
end of the game!”

Hmmm… that is so much easier to understand.

bookworm + shoot

Right from the time when I was still very much confident that my wispy curly fringe is the next best thing to pop music (ok, that was then), I have been so fascinated with the written word. I remember getting into a lot of trouble for not finishing my house chore, or burning lunch or dinner that I am suppose to be watching just because I was so absorbed in what I was reading. I still very acutely recall all the times I saved every cent I had to buy another instalment of Nancy Drew or Sweet Valley pocketbooks, that when I first get one, I would skim through the pages and just smell that wonderful scent of a new book, its crisp pages and its hard covers. I would take care of my books so much that it was so impossible to part with them even when someone borrows them.

From the mysteries of Nancy Drew to the young love of Sweet Dreams, then to more intense literature from all over the world as I finish my English degree to now very different genre of topics, my taste in literature has been immensely limited due to time and current life.

Just as eclectic as I am, I read books from photography, parenting, psychology all the way to life and spirituality. Here are a few that tickle my fancy.

And I had the pleasure of spending the morning with little Issy and her gorgeous little sister, Emily. It is always a fun day playing and getting to know little kids especially little girls. Here is a sneak peek of our session this morning.

updates and shoots

As much as I would love a holiday somewhere exotic or even just out of town, I am still here although not doing much so no excuses for lack of updates in here.

I am well recovered from the surgery and getting back to doing lots at home, although I have left the house to the dust monster that I need to get to work on very soon. I am still taking bookings for shoots in June and July, so ask for the latest promotion by sending me an email through the contact form at the top menu or by ringing me.

Here is the latest shoot I have been busy with apart from preparing for my TAFE workshop in May.

newborn session

This is long overdue, way overdue, good thing this is not in my belly or it would be have been delivered long time (okay I think I have been on the computer way too long, I am not making sense anymore). Right, I will go back to the post, to showcase this gorgeous newborn who didn’t behave like one (right M?) Ahhh, it was sweet and short, she gave me 10 minutes of sleep and that was it, but look at her, isn’t she just adorable?

I am sure she makes you clucky.

Ok, after being long overdue, I finally finished the most awaited session photos of all, that is because I have 15 people waiting for their style headshots. And to release the photo, I am going to set it in style with my new slideshow program that I am so loving at the moment, it is so easy to use and I don’t have to download each and every photo in the slideshow which in this case is 106 photos.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone in Hedland for really giving me a warm welcome to the business. I have been inundated with e-mails after I opened my portfolio building shoots and I have to say that I am overwhelmed with the response. Thank you, thank you and thank you. I am booked out since last month until May. I am taking a short break in June and will open for more sessions in July. And Mother’s Day is just around the corner, what better way to give a present, than the gift of memory captured. I am offering a limited number of gift vouchers for future sessions starting in July.
