I didn’t think it was going to be hard until I had to do it. I chose the tuesday, 16th June. The hardest thing I thought was not having the phone, I use my phone nearly all the time, not so much for ringing and sms but also for looking at my schedule, to do list and the shopping list. So for that day, I decided to leave my beloved iphone in my bedside table, that way I don’t get to see it until I go to bed at night.
Since, it was tuesday, tara had the playgroup so we went and spend the most of the morning at playgroup after dropping Josh off to school. Here she is going back to the car and in the car on our way to playgroup, and of course, i took this before i started driving (of course).

Everytime we drive to school, I always wanted to take a photo of the kangaroos and since I had the camera with me and it was early in the morning and the light was nice, I decided to stop and take a few snaps. Now, I do intend to take some nice ones but I thought I’d wait until the light is really great so for that morning I wanted to take a photo of the kangaroos with the sun. Who says its not fun to take a photo of the sun directly? well, it wasn’t easy and I was kind of feeling embarrassed being on the ground (literally) to add the sun in the shot as I had the wrong lens in the camera, so I only managed to take these shots, but I think I will try another time as I don’t think I like the results really but the idea is there, now just to get them in the shot (grrrr!).

Whilst in the playgroup, the kids had fun playing inside with the toys and then went outside and play at the sandpit and the playground. Tara always enjoys playing in the sandpit and when she does, you’ll have fun washing her hair that night as most of the sand ends up on her head and in her hair.
After playgroup, I decided to take tara to the doctors to get her throat checked up since she was saying that her throat hurt early that morning, and luckily I didn’t have to make an appointment and just waited for our turn that afternoon, (usually I make the appointment on the phone for the next day). By the time it was finished, it was time to pick up josh from school (she’s got tonsilitis and was given antibiotics).
When we came back from picking josh up at school, I had the dining table set up for a bit of craft activities to keep them busy and to keep me from the lure of the computer and tv, and here is what they did that afternoon.

It took the rest of the afternoon to finish the activity, then they played ball outside while I made dinner ready. It was a bit of a struggle not to have the tv on while making dinner because usually we watch ‘Scrapheap Challenge’ just in time for dinner, but I told the kids that it will be an exception for that night. We had dinner with no tv and quite enjoyed it. After dinner, the kids had a shower and we read some books and sang some songs until it was bedtime. (It was fun!)
Now, the real struggle was when the kids were in bed and I didn’t know what to do so I unpacked my sewing machine and came up with these gorgeous little tissue holder from the scraps of fabric I had. (sounds really easy, but I did struggle a bit because I’m not used to sewing, and I’m pretty proud of myself for finishing them). Now I think they can be one of the Christmas presents for everyone in the list. Cool!

Till next unplug day, I can’t wait and i think it would be so much easier. Have a great week!
