I must really be having a lazy Saturday, the kids are in bed and usually I sit down on the couch and either watch my favourite recorded show, or read a book or magazine, but today I decided to surf the net. I used to have heaps of time to sit in front of the pc and just surf the net, most searches include photography, sewing, arts and crafts, and house decorating ideas. I miss being able to be on top of photography forums and articles but its been a long while since I’ve actually done much in the forums I am in, and most of my membership have expired. So I sit here and list down what I would like to do in 2010. It’s really only a matter of two weeks and a new year is here promising lots of opportunities as well as time to spark my creativity. (And of course, another great year with my 3 year old at home).
Anyways, photography…. In the last 4 years since I personally decided to delve more on this craft, and after a few online and on location workshops, I have to say that I can see the progress and evolution of my photography (frankly, I wasn’t sure I was ever going to be able to take more than blurry photos of the kids), and with the business launching middle this year, I am so happy and grateful for everyone who has one way or the other, been there to support me, directly or not, in my passion.
I enjoy the lifestyle portraiture, kids and family, and I plan to take this one step further and try my hands on fashion commercial photos, indoor studio photography, landscapes and product photography (i know, its too much). I am yet to practice the studio lights I bought early this year and maybe take more photos indoors, although its frustrating to take photos inside this house, as it is too small and not enough natural light coming, so another project is to get to know my flash better. This one is taken with the studio lights early this year, hmmm lots more to learn.

Another love of mine that you probably wouldn’t know as it is very new is sewing. I actually stumbled upon it not long ago on the net, as I was reading some of my favourite photography blog, a lady was commissioned to take photos of a couple of girl dresses for etsy and she was selling the pattern. It looked really easy so I bought the pattern not even thinking I don’t have the sewing machine to do it and even have any idea on starting the project. So it sat in my computer for a while until we went down to perth and I decided to buy some fabrics for the dress (I had to ask a friend to choose the fabric as I have no idea). When I came back, I ask a friend to sew along with me, that way if I stuffed up, I got a friend (I needed to share it with someone) anyway, long story short, here I am with a new sewing machine that I love, and few more patterns later, enjoying and loving this new hobby. Ok, my goal is to be able to sew Tara a dress as cute and lovely as this from Matilda Jane.

A new favourite mag that I get from the newsagency once in a while is the Real Living magazine. And one day, when I get to style my very own home, I would like it to be as stylish and modern as the homes featured in this mag. Although, mind you, my house will never stay neat and tidy and stylish as those home, just because we are a family who lounges around the house and leaves stuff everywhere (I try to train the kids to pick up after themselves) but you know what I mean that sometimes the battle is lost. But still, I like the idea of having a modern classic home just like this one.
sorry photo is blurry, I sort of stretch the pixels
So I hope you are with me while I endeavour to go this route in the future, and share with me every step along the way. I know that I have constant visitors in this blog, and I may not know who you are but I feel that my ramblings are being heard/ read. So have a great weekend!
